Did you see my YouTube videos yet? Did you want to? As I mentioned in my previous post, public speaking is not my thing. In fact, it scares the hell out of me! I am taking a great social media class this semester. We’re learning about every aspect of social media possible, including (GASP!) using YouTube. If you want to see the videos, you can check them out here and here. It really is ironic that the post I had planned for this week was about overcoming fear. Lol.

Thank you!!! I have so enjoyed this assignment and reading the class blogs. Your post about Ethiopian food a few weeks ago was of particular interest to me. It is something I have not tried and did not know much about. Cinnamon and cloves are two of my favorite spices. They remind me of the holidays. If you have a restaurant you recommend, I’d love to know!

Blogging is, one way or another, all about promoting oneself or a cause we believe in. Your posts are very interesting and offer valuable information. Same as you I have been suspecting that volunteerism is in a decline while people, perhaps aided with the ease of being entertained at the drop of a hat (smart phones, tablets, etc.), are finding that they have less and less time to volunteer, i.e., perform a human/physical job rather than via electronics. I wonder if more people are volunteering on tasks such as updating databases, etc. Makes you wonder. cs5711
